Care and Storage Guide for Forage and Toys

Forage Blends & Edible Treats
-
Keep it Cool: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can bleach the nutrients out of dried flowers and herbs.
-
Airtight is Best: Once opened, keep forage in an airtight container or a sealed glass jar to maintain crunch and aroma.
-
Watch for Humidity: Natural products can absorb moisture. Avoid storing near a stove or in a damp basement.
Boxed Hay
-
Let it Breathe: Unlike forage, hay actually likes a little airflow! If you keep it in the box, keep the top slightly open or poke a few air holes.
-
Check the Temp: Store hay off the ground (on a shelf or pallet) to prevent moisture from the floor seeping in.
-
Natural Variation: Since hay is a natural product, you may see slight color changes between seasons—this is normal and a sign of a truly fresh, un-processed product!
Handmade Toys
-
Safety First: Inspect toys daily. If wood is chewed down to a sharp point or a string becomes loose, it’s time to remove it and replace it with a fresh one.
-
If a toy gets wet (from a water bowl) let it dry completely in the sun before giving it back to your pet to prevent bacteria growth.
-
A Note on Colour: We use 100% natural fruit juices to colour our handmade toys. Because these are natural pigments and contain no chemical fixatives, you may notice slight fading over time or minor discoloration if the toy gets wet (e.g., in a water bowl).
